We need lots of volunteers to make the Steel City World Cup a success! Whether you love soccer or you have never kicked a ball in your life, we have an opportunity for you to get involved in this fun, worthwhile event. You can volunteer to work with the event hosts and the international community in Pittsburgh to make this the best tournament in the city and a welcoming experience for all.
Tournament Play — We need approximately 50 volunteers to assist with all aspects of the tournament itself, especially on June 22nd and 23rd, including field monitors, score runners, ball chasers, water monitors and refreshers, floaters, photographers, social media posters, check-in and hospitality, set-up and clean-up, and more. All of these roles are ideal for someone who wants to be close to the tournament action.
Volunteer flexibility is very helpful to us in our planning, but if there is a particular role that interests you, please let us know when you register and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Event activities begin early in the morning and end in the late afternoon, and we need volunteers throughout the entire day. Volunteers have the options of selecting morning, afternoon, and full day time slots.
If you can only volunteer a few hours, that’s ok! Just let us know and we’ll figure out how to get you involved.
All volunteers will receive a t-shirt, free food and drink, and 2 tickets to the June 29 Riverhounds game and World Cup Finals. You also get to have loads of fun, and the personal satisfaction of knowing that you’re supporting more than a singular event as we raise funds that will benefit our community.
